China - To be confirmed

19 Mar 2022

The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship heads back to where it all began back in 2014, and China in Season 8 - with the host city to be finalised shortly. The country hosted the very first E-Prix and the all electric race series visited Sanya in the 2018/19 campaign. It's about time for a return.

Where it all began

All-electric street racing has a long-standing history in China. Beijing played host to Formula E's inaugural E-Prix back in 2014 and the FIA World Championship has also visited Sanya.

After a slow start to his title defence in 2018/19 and coming, Jean-Eric Vergne finally reached the top step of the podium after a commanding performance in Sanya, which kicked off the Frenchman's run to a championship-winning finale.
